Dr Gagandeep Chohan

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Dr Gagandeep Chohan is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is a registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Gagandeep completed her Doctorate Training in Clinical Psychology at The University of Birmingham and qualified in 2016. She has a special interest in complex grief, and her thesis focused on exploring grief responses in adults following the loss of a child in pregnancy and adulthood, through addiction. She has extensive experience of working psychologically in a range of clinical settings, with clients across the lifespan including children, their families, adults and women in the perinatal period. She has supported individuals and teams with a range of mental health and emotional difficulties in both NHS and private settings.

Gagandeep is trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach is both integrative and flexible; drawing on different aspects of approaches best tailored to suit the client’s needs. She has experience of working with a range of presentations, with a special interest in trauma work, grief, life transitions and wellbeing at work.

Gagandeep puts a strong focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship with client’s, to support the development of a non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe space in therapy.

In her spare time Gagandeep likes to spend time outdoors walking, travelling and trying new places to eat!
